Hazard sustains an injury ahead of Madrid’s clash against Villarreal

The Belgium international is doing all he can to be fit for Real Madrid’s clash against Villarreal on the weekend.

Real Madrid

have been dealing with many injury setbacks in the last week or so.

Carlo Ancelotti

could not play

Karim Benzema

for their victory against

Granada

on Sunday, while Ferland Mendy was also unavailable.

Casemiro and Lucas Vazquez, meanwhile, left the squad in the 11th hour as they had stomach problems.

Before a crucial clash against

Villarreal

on the weekend, Real Madrid will have Casemiro and Vazquez at their disposal, while the comeback of Benzema and Mendy is not yet certain.

Both players are training with the group, but Los Blancos do not want to rush it as the Champions League battle against Paris Saint-Germain is coming up next week.

As if that was not enough, Madrid have to deal with another injury blow.

Eden Hazard

picked up a knock while training, which has put him in doubt for this weekend’s game.

Although it is not a serious injury, it has seen the Belgium international miss training, based on reports from Mundo Deportivo.

The 31-year-old will most likely return next week but this was an extra stress Ancelotti did not need before the battle against Villarreal.
