I was wrong to react and the same goes for Militao – Barella

Inter midfielder was sent off the pitch during Champions League clash against Real Madrid.

Inter

midfielder

Nicolò Barella

was sent of the pitch during the Champions League 2-0 loss against

Real Madrid

on Tuesday.

The Italy international took a swing at Real’s

Eder Militao

after Militao kneed him in the back of his head.

Barella received a straight red card, which may result in a two-game ban.

The 24-year-old reflected on his red card in an interview with SportMediaset, saying it was wrong of him to react that way.

“I was wrong to react, it wasn’t nice for those watching,”

said in comments carried by Calciomercato.com.

“I reacted, but it’s something I could have avoided and the same goes for Militao. I apologized, speaking to him and the referee.

“I wanted to apologize after what I had done. Then, if they only give me a one-match ban, I’ll be happy.”
