The French star is close to leaving the club and rumors suggest his possible separation.

Paris Saint-Germain

president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has expressed hope that

Kylian Mbappe

's contract will be extended and he will win the Ballon d'Or.

Yesterday, Lionel Messi managed to win his seventh Ballon d'or and break his record once again. It was also the first Ballon d'or to be won by a PSG player. Real Madrid

as a free agent next summer. Now Al-Khelaifi has expressed hope that his team will be able to extend Mbappe's contract.

"For the club, it is the first, I hope it is not the last. I hope that other players will win it, starting with Kylian. I'm sure he wants to win it."

Asked about Mbappe's future, he added: "You know what I think, Kylian is a great player, a great man. Kylian knows what he wants to do, us too."

Rumors are circulating that Zinedine Zidane may be the Paris Saint-Germain managerand that Mauricio Pochettino will be fired and Al-Khalifi said:

"Pochettino is our coach and he is happy to be with us, we are happy to work with him.

"He is doing a good job. Everyone needs time. I see all the rumours, we have to stop talking about this, it's not true.

"We're truly happy with the coach. We haven't had any contact with Zidane. He's a great coach, but we also have a very good one."
