Bosnia provide injury update on Edin Dzeko
Bosnia national team have confirmed Inter striker Edin Dzeko underwent treatment today after suffering a muscle injury during his side’s clash with city rivals AC Milan on Sunday.
Dzeko
pulled up with a muscle problem after a sprint during the second half of the Milan derby and immediately signaled to the bench that he needed to be substituted.
The former
Romaforward was called to the Bosnia and Herzegovina squad for the upcoming matches against
Finland
,
Ukraine
, and the
USA
, but he could not train with his teammates today.
“The MRI confirmed a certain degree of damage to the muscles of the back of the thigh, and therefore Dzeko underwent a physical therapy program,”
an official statement read
.
Dzeko
has scored eight goals in 16 games in all competitions.
Meanwhile,
Nicolo Barella
and
Alessandro Bastoni
both came off during the second half after they indicated to the coach that they did not feel right to continue.
