Arteta defends Arsenal players after controversial win over Watford
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta defended his players after Watford manager Claudio Ranieri accused them of a lack of respect before Emile Smith Rowe’s goal.

scored the only goal of the game as the Gunners extended their unbeaten run to 10 games with a 1-0 win over
Watfordat Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

, could be treated. Instead of handing the ball back to their guests,
Arsenalchose to play on, and the goal came not long after.
The Watford manager was irritated that Arsenal did not return the ball after it had been put out for an injury in the move that resulted in Emile Smith Rowe's crucial goal.
Ranieri
told
Arteta
that there is no respect in the Gunners’ action, but the Spaniard defended his side and said they are often too honest.
"If I have to define my players, my team and my club, I would say that they are the most honest - all of them,"
Arteta said.
"At some stages, we can even become naive.
"But still, if [Ranieri] feels like that towards our club, our team, I have to apologize if that's the case but, for sure that was not the intention to take any advantage."
