Donnarumma is the world best shot-stopper - Mancini
The Italy coach thinks Gigio Donnarumma is the world’s best shot-stopper and is going to ‘help PSG win the Champions League’ but is in doubt about World Cup being every two years.
The ex-
Milankeeper had his Champions League debut against
Manchester Citythis week in
Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 victory over
Pep Guardiola
’s side.
However,
Gigio Donnarumma
featured in only three Ligue 1 games this season, raising speculations of a return to Italy, with
Juventuskeen on acquiring his services.
“
He played a great game against Manchester City,
” Mancini said during the event The Young Hope, as quoted by
Calciomercato.com
.
“He is the best goalkeeper in the world and even if PSG already have another top goalkeeper, I don’t think Donnarumma will spend much time on the bench.”
Italy will go against Spain in the Nations League semifinals and may lock horns with Belgium or France in the Final. They will then take on Switzerland in a World Cup qualifier on November 12.
“
We hope to play a good semifinal and, if possible, also a good Final,”
said Mancini.
“They are the four best European countries and for us, the Nations League is important.
“Everybody will be given a chance to play, not only those who won the Euros.”
Roberto Mancini
called up Lorenzo Pellegrini, Giorgio Chiellini and Marco Verratti in his squad for the battle against La Roja.
The Italy tactician also commented on World Cup being held every two years.
“I don’t want to say no or yes, but the World Cup is such an extraordinary thing that waiting for four years has become an emotion.
“It could become a normal thing if they decide to play it every two years.”
