Flick hails Sane for showing his "impressive" quality against Armenia
The Bayern Munich star has shown improved performances for Die Mannschaft in their recent World Cup qualifying matches.
Germany
crushedArmenia with a 6-0 result in their World Cup qualifier on Sunday.
Leroy Sane
was among the most influential players during the game, with the former Manchester City star showing great attacking flexibility down the left flank.
In a post-match interview, Germany boss Hansi Flick praised Sane for his impressive performance.
"I think he showed what quality he has,"
the Mannschaft boss told reporters.
"I am happy when he is so agile, so active, because he is on the move with an ease that is impressive.
"At the moment you have the feeling that he has a lot of self-confidence. That's exactly what he needs. He's on a really good way."
Having struggled for form since his transfer from Man City in July 2020, Sane was heavily criticized for his performances at the start of the current season. However, the Bayern winger has displayed improvement in his recent national team outings under Flick, with many observers believing the manager has activated Sane’s full potential by moving him to the left side of Germany’s final third.
"Karim showed what he showed in Salzburg at the beginning of this round: that he is a good enforcer in the penalty area and that he acts very self-confidently,"
said the 56-year-old coach.
Adeyemi has been added to Germany’s attacking line as Flick hopes to find a reliable striker for his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation. The Munich-born teenager has made six league appearances for RB Salzburg this season, scoring six goals and providing one assist.
