Correa helps Inter win in his debut

Inter defeats Verona with Joaquin Correa’s brace in his first game.

After falling behind with an early goal from

Hellas Verona

, the

Nerazzurri

came back to win the game 3-1 with

Joaquin Correa’s

brace in his first game for the club.

The reigning champions had their striker

Lautaro Martinez

back after his suspension, and he was used alongside his new partner

Edin Dzeko

, but they were without players like

Alexis Sanchez

,

Roberto Gagliardini

, and

Christian Eriksen

.

The first goal was gifted to the home side by

Samir Handanovic

whose poor pass to

Marcelo Brozovic

was intercepted by Verona’s

Ivan Ilicic

who found the with a chip shot in the 15th minute of the game, so the Nerazzurri finished the first half as the defeated side, although they had put the ball in the net in the 39th minute which was not accepted because Martinez had committed a foul before that.

Only two minutes into the second halftime, the Argentinian striker leveled the game for inter with a header from Ivan Perisic’s long throw, which was flicked by Edin Dzeko.

The visitors had a penalty call that was ruled out by the VAR decision, and they got nothing out of it just for Correa to come in and replace Lautaro Martinez and change the game for the Nerazzurri.

Correa needed only nine minutes to score his first goal for Inter and gave his side the lead by that goal putting them ahead, but it didn’t seem enough as he found the net for the second time in the night in the 94th minute to show his determination and quality in his debut game for the reigning champions of the Serie A.
