Valencia eying move for Chelsea’s Chalobah

The La Liga club have been monitoring the defender during the Blues’ pre-season campaign.

Having spent an impressive season at Lorient,

Trevoh Chalobah

joined Chelsea from the Ligue 1 side in June. The English defender, who displayed great form during Chelsea’s pre-season campaign, has been linked with a move abroad ahead of the next season.

According to

Goal.com

, Valencia are interested in making a summer move for Chalobah. However, Chelsea’s manager Thomas Tuchel has told the club to avoid selling the player as he intends to promote him to his side’s senior squad.

Chelsea continue their efforts to sign

Jules Kounde

from Sevilla in the current transfer window. The potential arrival of the French star will further limit Chalobah’s chances of getting enough game time. The Blues are reportedly open to selling Kurt Zouma this summer, with West Ham being the main suitor for the defender.

Tuchel’s side have already secured

the signing of Romelu Lukaku

on a £98 million deal. The Belgium international is expected to be available for Chelsea’s Super Cup match against Villarreal on Wednesday.
