Alex Telles

suffered an ankle injury during a pre-season training session last week, with the team’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying the Brazil international would be "out for a few weeks".

However, the Norwegian boss has now provided a new update on the Brazilian's injury, saying that the 28-year-old defender will probably be out of action until September, thus, missing the start of the new season and the Red Devils’ three Premier League fixtures against Leeds, Southampton and Wolves.

"Unfortunately, it's worse news on Alex Telles than we hoped for,”

Solskjaer told the club’s official website.

"His ankle injury is a little bit more severe than we hoped and he'll be out for a little spell at least, the whole of August I would think."
