Allegri challenges McKennie to “score 10 goals this season”

The Bianconeri boss is determined to activate the American midfielder’s full potential in the final third.

Juventus faced

Cesena

in their first pre-season friendly of the summer. The Bianconeri won the game with a 3-1 result, with

Weston McKennie

scoring an impressive solo goal just after the hour mark.

Massimiliano Allegri, who is back for his second spell at Juventus, was impressed by McKennie’s performance. However, instead of praising the USMNT star, the Italian coach set a goal target for him.

"You’ve got to score 10 goals this season!"

the Juve boss was heard saying to McKennie.

McKennie joined Juventus on a loan deal from Schalke last summer. The American midfielder quickly established himself as a key player under Andrea Pirlo and got a permanent contract in March. The 22-year-old featured in 46 matches for Juventus last season, scoring six goals and providing three assists.

Juventus will continue their pre-season campaign with a match against

Barcelona

in the Joan Gamper Trophy final on August 9.
