Italyin their Euro 2020 campaign. The Roma defender was injured in the second half of his side’s 2-1 win over Belgium on Friday. The 28-year-old is feared to have suffered an Achilles tendon injury that might sideline him for months.
According to
Gianluca Di Marzio
, Spinazzola will be heading back to Rome alongside Italy's team doctor Andrea Ferretti. The Roma defender sent a message to Italian fans after the injury.
“We all know how it went but our blue dream continues and with this great group nothing is impossible.”
Spinazzola wrote on his Instagram
account.
He added:
“I can only tell you that I will return soon! I am sure!”
