Pandev is considering retirement
North Macedonia’s experienced striker doesn’t rule out retirement after so many years at national team.

Goran Pandev
admits that he needs rest now after so many years of playing for the national team and making 122 appearances for North Macedonia.
The 37-year-old striker was praised by Netherlands captain Goerginio Wijnaldum before their clash and was hailed by the fans when he was subbed in the second half.
Pandev’s contract with Genoa expires at the end of the month, and his future with the Italian side is in doubt.
“I played many games with my national team. I lost a lot of them, with many sacrifices. Nevertheless, we managed to play the Euros just at the end of my career, which was extraordinary for the whole country,”
Pandev told Sky Sport Italia

“I am happy my international career ended this way, I want to thank everybody, we achieved something special.”
Genoa’s defender Domenico Criscito has hailed Pandev on his social media account, hoping that the experienced striker would continue playing for Genoa.
“I thank Mimmo, we played many games together, he is like a brother to me,”
Pandev said
.
“I am waiting for a call from Genoa now…Jokes aside, I want to rest a little bit, I spoke to the club and I need to choose. The club and the coach have always supported me, I want to rest and then I will decide.”
