Buffon considers Parma return in the summer

The Juventus goalkeeper will leave the Old Lady in the summer transfer window.

Gianluigi Buffon

confirmed in May that he will leave

Juventus

in the summer. The speculations over the veteran’s future have intensified in recent weeks as the player is spending the last days of his long-standing Juventus career. Agent

Silvano Martina

confirmed on Saturday that the 43-year-old is considering a move back to Parma, where he started his career in 1994.

“Of course, Parma is a viable path,”

Silvano Martina told

Parma Today

.

“But it doesn’t have to me who eventually decide for him.

Apart from a short spell at PSG in 2018-19, Buffon has spent the majority of his career at Juventus. The goalkeeper has won ten Serie A trophies with the Italian giants in addition to a World Cup title with Italy in 2006.  The former Italy captain is reportedly interested in finishing his career as a starter and a return to Serie B with Parma could be a suitable option for him.

“Everything is still open, Gigi is considering all the hypotheses. Among these, Parma are there too.

“I’ll see him this week to talk about the future. Let’s see what will happen.”

Buffon featured in 220 games for Parma between 1994-2001, where he won the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italiana, and the UEFA Cup.
