Lazio gives an ultimatum to Sarri

With Simone Inzaghi leaving Lazio for Inter next summer, Mauricio Sarri has emerged as the club board’s favorite to replace Inzaghi at the dugout.

Sarri has been out of a job since his departure from Juventus in 2019-20 after they lifted Scudetto, and it was reported that the 62-year-old was close to reaching an agreement with Lazio as Lazio’s owner, Claudio Lotito delivered the documents for a new contract. However, the former Napoli boss hasn’t responded yet, and despite the offer’s deadline, Lotito is willing to wait a few more days and has set a new deadline for Tuesday.

According to

Tuttomercatoweb

, the former Porto boss, Vítor Pereira, and Fiorentina’s Giuseppe Iachini are Lazio’s alternatives.

Finishing 6th this season, Lazio failed to secure a Champions League slot for the next year, and considering the departure of their highly-rated coach, they will have a tough task to regather their reinforcement for the next season.
