Vazquez will happily play for Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s Lucas Vasquez shows interest in signing a new contract with the club.
Lucas Vazquez
is getting closer to free agency as his contract with
Real Madridexpires, but he says that he would love to stay at the club as he sees Real Madrid as the best club in the world.
Despite the 29-year-old’s interest in contract renewal, the extension talks have been held by the club after Zidane’s departure.
Discussing his future with
Movistar, Vazquez said:
"I’m calm. Who wouldn’t want to keep playing for the world’s best club?
"We will know something soon, I can’t imagine my life without football."
The Spain international has spent all his career in Real Madrid, making 240 appearances for the club and winning two La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies.
Despite all the glories he has gained with the club, his most important feature is being used in different positions and showing impressive performances in different positions.
On his versatility, a hard-working part of the Madrid fold said:
"I went from being an offensive winger to just a winger.
"Football basically evolved and developed so that every winger played as an inverted winger on opposite flanks and natural wingers like me are hard to find now.
"Until this season I wasn’t comfortable playing as a right-back, it was a strange feeling."
Vazquez had an important part in his side’s battles in domestic and continental competitions, and he faced a knee injury that ended his season in April after making 34 appearances for the club.
