Nainggolan: ‘Cagliari need to earn points’
Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan has urged his side to start finding form if they want to avoid relegation.
The Belgian midfielder has experienced a difficult spell at
Interunder
Antonio Conte
since arriving from
Romain 2018 and has spent last season on loan at former club
Cagliari, before returning to the Isolani again in January.
However, Cagliari are not having their good days as they are in the battle to avoid relegation and their 2-0 loss against
Hellas Veronaon Saturday made the situation worse for Semplici’s men.
In an interview with
Sky Sport Italiaafter the match, Nainggolan declared that his side needed to start picking up points to avoid the drop.
“In my opinion, we lack personality and now it is difficult, because there are fewer matches whilst the points we have stay the same,”
the former Roma midfielder claimed
.
“We want to save ourselves, the group is united, but it’s not that easy. They (Verona) punished us with minimum effort and every time we are starting from scratch, which is not easy.
“There are nine games to go now, first there is Inter and then eight more. We need to earn points and even victories because the points we have are not enough.”
