West Brom loss is a big test of Chelsea's mentality now - Pulisic
The United States international is hoping the Blues can make up for their latest defeat as they push for the Champions League and FA Cup.
Christian Pulisic
believes
Chelsea’s mentality will be tested after their thumping 5-2 loss at the hands of
West Bromon Saturday.
The 22-year-old scored the opener for his side but the Baggies pushed hard to seal the three points as they fight relegation. The Blues midfielder insists that his side must be prepared for a strong response in the upcoming matches.
"
It’s a big test of our mentality now. We’ve got some really big games coming up,"
the 22-year-old, who sustained a hamstring injury and was sent off, said.
"We’ve been in good form prior to the international break and obviously we’ve come back and lost one game. We can’t dwell on that because we have a lot to play for in both the Premier League and the Champions League. We have to recharge now, refocus and regroup and come back strong and ready for the next game."
Chelsea are sitting fourth on the
Premier Leaguetable, filling the last spot that assures their
Champions Leaguequalification for the next season. However, they are pressured as
Tottenham,
Liverpool, and
West Hamare only two points adrift of them.
The Blues are set to go against
Portoin the Champions League quarter-final’s first leg on Wednesday. They will then take on
Crystal Palacein the Premier League on Saturday.
