Barcelona ace Fati hints at year-long injury absence

Barcelona youngster, Ansu Fati seemingly mentioned that he could be sidelined for about a year because of his current serious knee injury.

Fati suffered a serious knee injury in November, netting five goals and having performed at 10 matches in all competitions.

The 18-year-old forward had undergone surgery and reportedly was set to rest for four months but then, his return has been postponed to April, and no timescale was reported on his return.

"A few years ago I had a serious injury, a fractured tibia and fibula, and I couldn't play for almost a year."

"There were many days of suffering and pain, but also a lot of learning. It helped me to appreciate the little details."

The Spanish winger did not sustain his first serious injury, however, Fati revealed that he was previously sidelined for almost a year because of fracturing his tibia and fibula.

"With my family and all the professionals who helped me at that time, I promised myself to keep going and work harder than ever to get back to doing what I love the most.

"Unfortunately, now I have to live through a similar situation, which I will face with the same mentality.

"I want to thank all those people who follow me and support me on a daily basis. Football is my life and no matter how many obstacles there are, I will always have the illusion of continuing to fight for my dreams."
