Calhanoglu: “I like Jens as a person, he’s a good lad”

Calhanoglu has talked about Milan’s Norwegian talent.

Jens Petter Hauge

has not started a game for

Milan

since January, and this has generated many suggestions about the 21-year-old winger’s future at the club. But

Calhanoglu

has praised the Norwegian winger’s quality asking him to stay at the club.

“That’s a question for his agent,”

Calhanoglu told Norwegian newspaper VG.

“But if you ask me, I will ask him to stay and fight his way into the team.

“He has a lot of quality. If he works hard and tries his best, he could become part of the starting line-up.

“First, I want to say I like Jens as a person, he’s a good lad. He’s young. It’s a big step for him to move from Bodo/Glimt to Milan. He needs time to play his way into the line-up.

“But when he’s given the chance, he always does well. He works a lot and I believe in him.

“He has a great talent. I’m very happy to play with him.”

Calhanoglu has also talked about Hauge’s adaptation to the club, saying that it is not a surprise that he adapted easily; because it is easier to play at a bigger club with higher quality and professionalism. However, he insists that Hauge needs to work hard to find his way into the starting lineup.

“I wasn’t surprised. For the player, it’s easier to play on a better team. There are more characters and higher quality. It made it easier for him,”

Calhanoglu said

.

“He needs to work and believe in himself. It’s not easy to get into the starting line-up, we have a lot of quality players. He needs to take his time.

“He must work more with the tactical approach and what the coach demands from him, but his time will come.”
