Real Madrid host Liverpool in Madrid due to the lift of travel ban

As confirmed on Tuesday, Real Madrid have the chance to face Liverpool in Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final match next month.

The Spanish government published on Tuesday that the travel restrictions on arrivals from the UK would be lifted on 30 March, letting the game start as planned in the Spanish capital.

Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium is not prepared to host the game because of the ongoing construction work.

However, their Alfredo Di Stefano stadium – traditionally the home of the team’s Castilla side – will stage the last-eight encounters.

Real Madrid

news is currently focused on hosting the Reds in the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier team competition in a repeat of the 2018 showpiece of the games, which Zinedine Zidane’s team won 3-1.

Both teams previously faced each other in the group stage of the 2014/15 version of the competition, with Real Madrid winning both matches between the two teams.
