Grant Brebner gives Marco Rojas injury update

The Kiwi winger is set to be sidelined for several weeks due to a fractured fibula.

Marco Rojas

has suffered numerous injuries in the current season. The player has already gone through a hamstring injury, a fractured nose, and a concussion, but a new injury might sideline him for the next two months. The 29-year-old came back from injury in

Melbourne Victory

’s match against

Wellington Phoenix

on February 24. However, he was forced off the field with a leg injury in the second half. Victory’s manager

Grant Brebner

has provided an update on the 29-year-old's injury.

"Unfortunately for Marco he has that tackle that has fractured his nose, he comes back and 20 minutes into the game (against Wellington) he has a fracture in his leg,"

Brebner said.

"So again, not great for Marco, not great for us. It could be anywhere between six to eight weeks.

"So it's a long time for Marco, it's unfortunate, but we have to move on."

Melbourne Victory have been struggling for form this season. They are currently at the bottom of the table with 7 points and have been defeated in four of their last five league matches.

"As a group we have to take it front-on,"

Brebner said.

"We have to acknowledge that last week wasn't good enough at all.

"We don't want to paper over cracks - we can't paper over the cracks.

"So we've had a tough week in that respect, but a tough week that we can now use as a determination now for that to never happen again at this football club."

Asked about his future at the club, Brebner responded:

"I've got great support from everybody at this football club,

"I have been here a long time (and) the chairman, the board, they've supported their head coaches and I appreciate that."

Victory will play against

Adelaide United

in their next A-League match on Saturday.
