Inter loanee Pirola is delighted with his decision to stay at Monza

The young defender turned down Pescara’s offer in the January transfer window.

Lorenzo Pirola

joined

AC Monza

on a season-long loan deal in the summer. The 19-year-old struggled for game time at the start of the season and there was speculation about a possible loan move to

Pescara

for the remainder of the current campaign. However, things have started to change for the young defender as he has played in three of his team’s last four matches.

“There was interest from Pescara and the deal was practically done,”

Pirola told

PianetaSerieB

.

“At the same time, however, I felt the trust of the club and the coach Brocchi.”

The Italian teenager has helped his team keep a clean sheet in their last three games.

“In the end I preferred to stay at Monza and now I think the decision is paying off because I am finding more and more space.

“I feel happy and satisfied to still play in the team of my city, with me being from Brianza.”

Pirola has made a total of six appearances for Monza in their current Serie B campaign as they sit second in the league with 47 points.
