Sevilla director Monchi called Barcelona's Koeman "Crybaby"

It was a vital confrontation between the two sides who were targeting to remain in the La Liga title race, so obviously, the tension was high during the match.

Movistar+ cameras have uncovered a trade of words between Sevilla's director of sports and Barcelona head coach

Ronald Koeman

during Saturday's

Primera Divison

fixture.

The Catalans ran won the games 2-0 to move five points clear of the Andalusian club – who have one game at hand – as they're trying to close the gap between themselves and Atletico Madrid at the highest point of the table.

In quotes conveyed by

Marca

, Koeman seems to have been addressing disputing over referees' choices before an episode that saw the house side's defender Diego Carlos booked.

Monchi shows his disappointment at this crossroads and is heard yelling:

"The crybaby has had an impact

."

Following on from this, the Dutch manager pivots to the stands where Monchi is sitting and showing his thumb, demonstrating he took the remarks in geniality.

The two Spanish powerhouses meet again to challenge the second leg of their

Copa del Rey

face-off at the Camp Nou on Wednesday.
