Brebner: ‘Melbourne Victory need to turn it around quickly’

Melbourne Victory manager Grant Brebner has urged his side to bounce back after their 1-0 defeat against Newcastle Jets on Sunday.

Angus Thurgate

scored in the second half at AAMI Park to secure the three points for the

Jets

.

This was

Victory

’s third loss in a row and they are struck with injuries. Speaking at his post-match press conference,

Brebner

urged his side to bounce back quickly and offered injury updates as well as discussing his team's form.

"There is a lot of disappointment. To come in after losing another game, it's not where we want to be, but I accept where we're at and we've got a game coming up on Wednesday night and we need to turn it around quickly."

"Both of them are complaining with hamstring, Nick and Adama, and Storm's got his concussion. At the moment we'll obviously have to get them looked at over the next 12, 24 hours."

"I'm not going to shy away from anything. We understand exactly where we're at, understand the magnitude of where we are positionally in the league and understand what we went through in the last seven games. I'm not going to pull the wool over anybody's eyes in here or in the changing room over the next 48 hours. We've got a big job ahead of us, I've got a big job ahead of me and we've got to turn it around. There's no other way around it, we've got to turn it around and if that means having some really, really tough, hard conversations with players and letting them know where I see them at, then I'll do it."
