Chelsea coach denied links to job at men's football

The Chelsea coach does not intend to stop working with this team and participate in men's football.

Emma Hayes, the head coach of the

Chelsea women's team

, , claimed that he does not intend to leave the Blues after rumors about her possible presence in the AFC Wimbledon men's team.

No women in England has ever coached in the men's game and Hayes has denied rumors that he is looking to leave Chelsea. She spoke about the possible transfer to men's third-tier before his team's crucial match in the semi-final of the Continental Cup against West Ham.

"When the football world is ready to adhere to the diversity codes, so that BAME (Black, Asian and minority ethnic) communities, plus women, get the opportunities in football, then I’ll see that as a step forward,"

she told reporters.

"This is not a conversation about Emma Hayes and AFC Wimbledon, but we should be having larger conversations around creating opportunities across the diverse spectrum so that opportunities in the men’s game are not limited to those in privileged positions.

"My privilege is what I do for Chelsea and my focus is firmly on what we do tomorrow night against West Ham."
