“I don't think Klopp’s under that much pressure” - Barnes

The Liverpool legend can understand why the German tactician appears to be worn out given the problems he endured.

John Barnes

believes

Liverpool

manager

Jurgen Klopp

is not “under that much pressure” at Anfield no matter what occurs at this point in the season.

The 53-year-old has had an unforgettable spell with the Reds, earning

Champions League

and

Premier League

titles during his reign. More trophies would have been delivered; had he not been faced with a series of injuries.

With many crucial players out of action, Liverpool will have to fight for more domestic honors rather than a top-flight hunt. The Reds five consecutive game without a victory was brought to an end after their thumping 3-1 win over Spurs. With all Klopp has gone through, Barnes can understand if Liverpool finish the season with a whimper.

Jurgen Klopp was under the most pressure in his first couple years when he wasn't winning any anything. But, having won the Champions League and the Premier League for the first time, I don't think he's under that much pressure,

” Reds legend Barnes said.

The frustration comes from how fickle football can be. I feel the same way, in terms of what he's done what they've won, and the fact that they’re going through five or six [bad] games.

“The situation at the back really works against the way we play. Anybody who knows anything about football knows that is the biggest reason [for the dip in form] – because of the injury situation.

“I've said all along that our best 11, 12, 13 players can compete with anyone. If we lose a couple of those players, I’m not saying we would struggle but we won't be as consistent.

“And I think his frustration is around how quickly some people have now started to question the desire or [suggest there is] complacency – which is not in Liverpool whatsoever.”

Klopp’s contract will expire in the summer of 2024, and he intends to depart from the responsibility of this role once it comes to an end.
