Meite happy to be a part of ‘legendary’ Milan

The Ivorian joined the Rosonnerri from Torino on a loan deal with a reportedly €9-10m buy-option on Friday.

Soualiho Meïté

told

Milan’s

official website:

“Milan are a great team with great history, a legendary club like AC Milan, therefore I was so happy when they contacted me. I spoke to my family and friends, I was so happy.

“Milan have always had great players and targeted top objectives, and I want to be a part of that.”

The 27-year-old was born in Paris and has played

for Auxerre, Lille, Zulte Waregem, Monaco,

and

Girondins de Bordeaux

before joining

Torino

in 2018.

“I am a player who likes to keep possession, while I can cross with both feet. My objective is to play at the level the team has currently, going as far as possible in both Serie A and Europe.

“I’m so happy to be here with a team that has an illustrious history. It’s a little sad that we are playing without the fans, but I can tell them to stand by us and give us their strength.

“I started playing football when I was seven, my father was a player when he was younger, although not at a high level, but he passed on that passion to me.

“I went on to sign for Auxerre when I was 13 and that’s where I developed until the age of 17, when I signed my first professional contract. That’s where it all began.”
