Rapinoe and Lloyd called into USWNT camp

The two mainstays Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe have joined the national team camp for the first time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

USWNT head coach

Vlatko Andonovski

has called in 27 players to the January camp, from which he will select an 18-player game-day roster for each match.

The camp will take place in Orlando. It will conclude with two games against

Colombia

at Exploria Stadium on January 18 and January 22.

Big names like Manchester United players

Tobin Heath

and

Christen Press

stayed overseas while

Alex Morgan

recently announced she and her family had tested positive for COVID-19.

“A big credit goes to our players, team staff, and overall medical staff for the tremendous work to make sure we have secure and healthy environments for our camps and games,”

Andonovski said in a federation

“And a special thanks also goes to our game operations staff for enabling us to host two matches against a talented opponent. It’s extremely valuable to play a team we don’t see that often and it’s important for our Olympic preparation.”
