Argentina boss comments on Messi’s situation

Argentina coach, Lionel Scaloni expressed his happiness that the worries about Messi's injury have been resolved and that he is very satisfied with his team's superstar.

World Cup qualifiers

is delighted that concerns over

Lionel Messi

's injury have been resolved and he is completely satisfied with his captain.

Despite concerns about

Messi

's ankle injury, he played in Friday's

1-1

draw with

Paraguay

and scored a goal in the second half that was ruled out.

While

Messi

will appear in his

142nd

national game in tomorrow's match,

Argentina

coach claims he is satisfied with his performance:

"On a performance level, Leo played a good game,"

Scaloni said in a pre-match press conference

"We were unlucky that they didn't validate the goal because it had been a great play.

"I saw him well and he has no problem, that's the important thing."

Scaloni also spoke about the retirement of former Argentina star

Javier Mascherano

:

"I want to emphasise the retirement of Javier Mascherano and his new life that begins from now on. I send him a big hug,"

he said

"He was an emblem of Argentine football and I wish him to do his best and that whatever he decides to do now, he does it with the same passion with which he used to play."
