Paris Saint-Germain’s Victory Over Metz and Their Qualification for the French Super Cup

Goals from Carlos Soler and Lee Kang-In give PSG the lead and put Metz in a relegation predicament

Paris Saint-Germain beat Metz by two goals without a reply in the match that took place this Sunday evening, to conclude their journey in the French league championship this season with a deserved victory.

Carlos Soler and Lee Kang-In scored the two goals of the match in the 7th and 12th minutes respectively, raising Paris Saint-Germain’s balance to 76 points at the top. In contrast, Metz’s balance froze at 29 points in the sixteenth place, which makes it play a decisive match for survival in the French first division league.

Paris Saint-Germain played the match with a full squad, except for a number of key players who were rested in preparation for the French Cup final, which includes Mbappe, Hakimi, Marquinhos, and Ousmane Dembele.

Despite this, Paris Saint-Germain scored two goals in the first half, the first from a cross shot by Carlos Soler, and the second after a skillful cross from Marco Asensio, exploited by Lee Kang-In.

In the second half, the Metz team appeared completely different, and wasted several real opportunities, where Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas saved his goal from two dangerous attempts from Jean Jacques and Mikautadze.

Despite Paris Saint-Germain’s changes in the second half, the team was unable to exploit the opportunities sufficiently, as it was content with only three attempts, one of which was wasted by Nordi Mukiele in front of Metz’s goal.

With this victory, Paris Saint-Germain is preparing to face Olympique Lyon in the French Cup final on May 25, while Metz awaits a difficult decisive match for survival in the French first division.
