Lingard's Resurgence: From Surgery Table to Seoul Spotlight

The English Midfielder's Remarkable Recovery and FC Seoul's High Hopes for Weekend Clash

Jesse Lingard, who surprised many with his move to Seoul in February, recently underwent knee surgery to address a meniscus issue. Despite this, the 31-year-old appears set to make a swift return to the pitch for the South Korean team this weekend.

In a recent Instagram post, the former

Manchester United

and West Ham player shared photos of himself back in training, expressing his readiness for the upcoming game with the caption: "Ready for the game tomorrow ⚡️⚡️⚡️🚀🚀🚀 @fcseoul."

Despite his lengthy spell without a club following his release from Nottingham Forest nearly a year ago, Lingard has faced criticism from FC Seoul boss Kim Gi-dong for what has been perceived as a lack of effort. Since joining the K League 1 side, Lingard has only appeared in three matches. The England international will be eager to make a quick turnaround and improve his performance.

Currently sitting in eighth place in the league after 12 matches, Seoul will host Daegu, who are second from bottom, on Sunday. Lingard is hoping to get significant playing time in this crucial upcoming encounter to help bolster Seoul's position in the league standings.
