De Zerbi: "I can’t explain my emotion"

Brighton can participate in European competitions for the first time in its history.

Brighton

managed to secure their place in the European competitions next season by defeating Southampton 3-1 at home.

Evan Ferguson scored two goals and Pascal Gross scored one goal for Brighton in this game. With this win, Brighton reached 61 points and they now only need one point to secure their place in the Europa League.

Roberto De Zerbi, Brighton's head coach, said after the game:

“Today is difficult for me because with my English I can’t explain my emotion,”

He said.

“I think we deserve this. The club, the players, me, my staff, and the fans, they have to organise their passports to travel in Europe next year because we have to grow together.”

Brighton will be playing against the reigning champions, Manchester City, in their upcoming Premier League match.
