Chelsea given UCL boost as Dortmund’s Adeyemi gets injured

The man who made the difference in the first leg for Dortmund has gotten injured.

Dortmund’s

Karim Adeyemi

is set to miss the German club’s Champions League last-16 tie against Chelsea on March 7.

Adeyemi has been having one hell of a week, scoring against Chelsea in the Champions League and then following it up with a goal and assist in BVB’s 4-1 against Hertha Berlin on Sunday.

However, Adeyemi was taken off at half time after he got injured on

Borussia Dortmund

’s second goal when he assisted Donyell Malen. He was seen clutching his left thigh before being forced off the field.

The club has since released an statement, saying that Karim Adeyemi will miss up to three weeks. This rules him out of Dortmund’s trip to Stamford Bridge on March 7.

"Borussia Dortmund's attacking player Karim Adeyemi sustained torn muscle fibres in the home game against Hertha BSC on Sunday,"

read an update from the club.

"He will be unavailable to play for the team for approximately three weeks."

Adyemi who came to Dortmund with great promise, found it hard to adjust to life at Signal Iduna Park at first, scoring only twice in his first 2 outings. However, the German international has now managed to score in each of his last 4 games for Dortmund.
