Leeds and Man United condemn hateful chants from both sides

Some fans decided to use hateful chants concerning the Munich and Istanbul tragedies in United's clash with Leeds, resulting in the two clubs condemning the chants.

Following some hateful chants during Leeds and

Man United

game, both clubs have released statements regarding the incident. Leeds United have condemned the “completely unacceptable” chants referring to “historic tragedies".

The two rivals met at Elland Road on Sunday, with the Red Devils defeating the hosts 2-0 with late goals from Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho. There were passionate chants relating to tragedies in Munich and Istanbul from a section of fans, which has upset both clubs immensely.

The clubs have released a joint statement, which reads:

Leeds United

are only a point away from the relegation zone.
