Real Madrid legend Raul rejects offer to manage Leeds United

Real Madrid legend Raul has reportedly rejected Leeds United's offer to become their manager.

Leeds United

confirmed on Monday that they have sacked Jesse Marsch after a run of seven Premier League games without a win. Marsch took over Leeds just 11 months ago and managed to keep them in the Premier League last season, but Leeds is in 17th place in the

Premier League

after 20 matches this season.

According to AS, Leeds United has contacted

Real Madrid

legend Raul to take charge at Elland Road, but the Real Madrid Castilla manager has rejected their offer as he thinks the timing is not ideal.

The report also claims that Raul wants to become Real Madrid manager, and he thinks there is a chance Carlo Ancelotti will leave his role at the end of the season.

The 45-year-old Raul was also approached by several Bundesliga and Spanish teams in the summer, but decided to stay as Castilla's manager. Raul's team has 11 wins and nine draws in 22 games this season and is currently second in Primera Federación Group.

Raul spent 16 years with Los Blancos and managed to score 323 goals in 741 games. He won three Champions League titles and six La Liga with Real Madrid.

The Athletic also reports that Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola and West From manager Carlos Corberan are on Leeds list to replace Marsch.

Leeds United has only two victories in 17 Premier League games, and now will face Manchester United twice in five days.

The English club has announced Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo, and Chris Armas will coach the team until a replacement for Marsch is found.
