Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo open to joining Galatasaray

AS Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo is open to joining the Turkish club Galatasaray.

According to the Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio,

Galatasaray

has started negotiations with Roma over signing

Zaniolo

. Di Marzio claims that Zaniolo is open to joining the Turkish club, but he has not yet agreed to personal terms with them.

Roma

wants to sell Zaniolo permanently, and Galatasaray has accepted their request. Di Marzio reports that another Turkish club Fenerbahce also is interested in Zaniolo, but Galatasaray is favourite to sign him. Turkey’s transfer window closes on February 8.

Premier League club Bournemouth reached an agreement with Roma in January over signing Zaniolo, but he rejected their offer, which angered Roma. Zaniolo’s priority is joining Milan, and if his move to Galatasaray fails to materialize, he is ready to wait until the summer.

The English clubs Bournemouth and Leeds United were ready to sign Zaniolo on a permanent deal, but he rejected their offers. Milan was also open to signing him on loan, and he also was ready to join them, but Roma refused to loan him out.

Zaniolo’s relationship with Roma has broken down, and he has no place in Jose Mourinho’s plans. He was booed by some fans last month, and recently some fans confronted him outside his home in Rome. The Italian player reportedly has taken a one-month leave of absence.

The 23-year-old's contract with Roma expires in 2024. It has to be mentioned that he has scored 24 goals in 128 matches for the Giallorossi.
