PSG set to appeal Ziyech loan transfer after Chelsea paperwork issue

Hakim Ziyech's move from Chelsea to Paris Saint-Germain on a loan deal is in doubt.

Paris Saint-Germain

reached a verbal agreement with

Chelsea

over the loan signing of

Hakim Ziyech

, with no obligation to buy on Tuesday, but a paperwork error reportedly has put this transfer in doubt.

After PSG and Chelsea reached an agreement on Tuesday, Ziyech traveled to Paris to complete the move, but reports later emerged that suggested the deal is off because Chelsea didn’t submit the paperwork on time.

ESPN reports that PSG believes the paperwork was filed in time and will appeal to Ligue 1 on Wednesday as the clubs look to resolve the situation.

The Athletic claims that Chelsea failed to submit the necessary paperwork in time for the move to be processed, and one source close to Paris Saint-Germain has described the situation as a "Class A circus”.

Some reports in France suggest that Chelsea has sent the wrong documents for three times, so that Ziyech would not sign for the Ligue 1 side. They claim that PSG will present an appeal accusing Chelsea of misconduct over this transfer, although they accept that they have a low chance of registering the Morocco international for the remainder of the season.

The Morocco star has just started in 4 Premier League matches this season and provided only one assist. The 29-year-old Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax for £35 million in 2020. He has scored 14 goals in 98 matches for the English club.
