Ten Hag confirms Sancho is "on the way back" after a 3-month absence

The former Dortmund winger hasn’t featured for the Red Devils ever since their 1-1 draw against Chelsea in October, having lost the chance to represent England in the World Cup. However, Erik ten Hag believes he’s close to returning.

Ten Hag revealed in December that

Jadon Sancho

had been absent due to "circumstances with fitness and mood”, with the English forward spending time working on an individual training program in the Netherlands. The English winger is now back in full training.

Ahead of United’s FA Cup tie with Reading, Ten Hag told his press conference about Sancho's situation:

“He is training with the team and we will see. So he's improving, he's making steps and we will make the decision after training. I said he's on the way back, he's making steps, he's back in team training and we have to see when he's ready to go back into games.”

Sancho scored three times in his first eight appearances this season. Ten Hag ruled Diogo Dalot out of their Saturday game while casting doubt over Shaw's involvement.
