Lyon's president declares Gusto and Cherki won't leave this window

After the lengthy injury of Reece James, the Blues were rumored to compete with Man United for Lyon's right-back, Malo Gusto.

Chelsea

has spent almost £500m in Todd Boehly era, signing 16 players. However, they are keen on adding more players to Graham Potter's squad during the January transfer window.

In addition to a new midfielder, Chelsea wants to find a substitute for injured Reece James as they are in talks with Lyon over a deal for their 19-year-old right-back,

Rejecting Chelsea's offer for their 19-year-old right-back, Malo Gusto,

president Jean-Michel Aulas wrote on Twitter:

“I have the pleasure of confirming that Malo Gusto, a great hope for OL, will continue to play with OL at least until June 2023.”

PSG has also been linked with a move for Lyon midfielder, 

Rayan Cherki

. However, dismissing the possibility of such a transfer, Aulas added:

“If there's one thing we all agree on, it's that a talent like Cherki will stay. Thanks to the team, don't look for one more click to send him to the bench of a club where he won't be able to express himself like at home."
