Everton owner Moshiri claims sacking Lampard is not his decision to make

Following yet another loss for Everton, owner Farhad Moshiri claims the future of Frank Lampard is not in his hands.

Everton

majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri claims that Lampard’s future doesn’t only involve his decision.

The Iranian businessman took over Everton’s ownership in 2016 and has since appointed 6 managers. However, the club has been on a downward spiral ever since, resulting in many fan protests. They are currently sitting 19th on the table, having suffered yet another loss which came against West Ham.

Despite the 2-0 loss, Moshiri insists that a decision on Lampard’s future doesn’t solely rest with him.

"I can't comment. It's not my decision,"

he told Sky Sports.

Bill Kenwright, the Everton Chairman, was also asked about Lampard’s situation.

"It's been a bad run of results for us all and for Frank,"

he said.

"But I would never say that to you, ever.

"We've got to start winning, haven't we? Bad time."

Sky Sports additionally asked Lampard how he feels about the situation, to which he replied:

"Those things are not my choice; it's my job to work and focus and keep my head down. If they are difficult conditions, I just have to do my job."

He then commented on his relationship with the hierarchy of the club, saying:

"I know there are issues, I'm not trying to close my ears to anything. It's just about how you work, the support you feel, the communication, that sort of thing.

"We communicate all the time, we have done since I've been here. I try to do the best I can for the club."

West Ham

managed David Moyes, who previously managed Everton for 11 years, also chimed in on the matter, saying:

"I hope Everton stick with Frank, I think he's a top bloke from my conversations and the times I've been with him.

"I would hate to think Everton would go down because they mean so much to me."
