Xavi Rules out any January plans as Aubameyang’s return rumors gathers

There may be rumors of Barca bringing back Aubameyang as well as offloading Memphis Depay but Xavi has denied such rumors.

Barcelona head coach Xavi has announced that there won’t be any serious activity for Barcelona in the January transfer market despite strong rumors about players like

Aubameyang

and Depay.

The Blaugrana have undergone a rebuilding process under Xavi as they were one of the busiest clubs in the summer when it came to transfers. But despite their dire financial situation, tehre have been reports claiming that Xavi is keen on bringing back Aubameyang to Camp Nou.

Aubameyang was a Barca player at the start of the summer but he joined Chelsea for free when the season started. However, the move hasn’t gone so well, especially with Graham Potter at the helm and Barca are willing to pay €12million to get him back.

Depay

’s exit rumors were brought up in an interview with Xavi, but the Spanish tactician ruled those moves out, saying:

"We are happy with the squad.

"We don't know anything. We will have to see what happens. I've told the board I'll be happy if the squad remains as it is."

Barca are sitting at the top of the La Liga table but their form has been inconsistent as of late. They are currently in Riyadh partaking in the Spanish Supercopa. It has been reported that Xavi had a meeting planned with Barca director Alemany. Although he has denied it, saying:

"We haven't had a meeting. We don't know anything [about the transfer speculation]. I have told Mateu if he does not add to the squad, I'm still happy.

"There is no news that I know of and I have not seen Mateu nor the president [Joan Laporta], at least not to speak about this. If there is any news they will let me know."
