Barcelona is weighing selling Raphinha in 2023 due to FFP rules
After a £55m summer transfer from Leeds United, the Brazil international failed to perform up to expectations at Barcelona. Now with the Catalans in the urge of raising funds for the next season, they are reportedly considering the sale of Raphinha.
Leeds United paid £16m for
Raphinha
when they signed him from Rennes in 2020 as the Brazilian scored 17 goals and contributed 12 assists across two seasons. The Whites made a lot of profit when they sold him for £55m to Barca.
However, contributing two goals and two assists across 18 games for
Barcelona, the Brazilian winger couldn't perform as expected in his new club. According to
Relevo, the Blaugrana are considering selling Raphinha in 2023 to meet financial fair play requirements as well as executing other deals.
The Brazilian said upon his arrival:
"I came here, just like the rest did, to help Barca. I know that Barca can help me a lot, and the players. So, I think one helps the other and that's how we get the results.
"It's certainly very easy when you play with high-quality players, like the ones we have in our squad. Everything becomes much easier.
"Obviously, I'm adapting to the team's style of play, and I think they're going to help me a lot, and I'll do my best to help everyone."
