Passionate Scaloni wants Argentina players to ‘enjoy the moment’

Argentina are set to face defending Champions France with Messi hoping to win the big prize in second try

Lionel Scaloni believes no matter the outcome of the final, his players should be happy that they have reached this stage of the tournament.

Albiceleste

are looking to secure their third ever World Cup, first one since 1986, with Lionel Messi leading the charge. The country is steeped in hope and emotions of all kind ahead of the Sunday’s final and it seems that manager Scaloni isn’t exempt of being emotional either.

"I'm already getting emotional, because they have given everything sincerely,"

Scaloni said.

"Let's hope we win the title tomorrow and if can't be, they should be proud, because the truth is that it is a moment to enjoy."

He then went on to talk about the game more in depth but he refused to call it a battle only between

Messi

and Mbappe.

"I think tomorrow's game will be more of a collective effort, not an individual effort,"

Scaloni added.

"Mbappe is a top player obviously but France also have a number of great players, they work for [Mbappe] and that makes him even better. Obviously, he's one of the top players, he's still young so can improve for sure.

"The upcoming match will be beyond [Messi v Mbappe]. We have weapons, strengths, and the match will be defined by every player, not just these two.

"Messi is doing very well and we hope we win, but this is Argentina v France and there are many players who can define this game."
