Van Gaal admits Dutch football lacks 'wingers' to win the World Cup
Former Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal says Dutch football lacks the crucial players out wide who can make a difference.

Argentinain the
World Cupquarter-finals.
didn't lose a single match out of 20 under Van Gaal in his third spell as manager and was only eliminated on penalties against Argentina.
The 71-year-old Van Gaal said he has left behind a good team who is united but admitted they still lack world-class wingers.
"What do I leave behind with the Oranje?"
he told AD.
"I leave a good, close-knit group with a lot of footballing ability.
"But I leave without wingers who can pass an opponent at the highest level. You need wingers who can pass those men.
"Dutch football doesn't have that at the moment, not when it comes to the very highest level of a World Cup. That's why I started playing differently.”
Last April, former Manchester United and Barcelona manager Van Gaal revealed he is being treated for prostate cancer and will retire after the World Cup.
The Dutch football federation announced that Ronald Koeman will replace Van Gaal. He left the Netherlands job to become Barcelona manager in August 2020.
Van Gaal managed top clubs across Europe including Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Alkmaar. The great manager won 20 major trophies during his career including the Champions League with Ajax in 1995.
