Raheem Sterling back into England training camp after family emergency

After tending to urgent family matters, Chelsea star Sterling is now back training with England ahead of their game against France.

Having missed England’s last-16 clash with Senegal after there was a reported armed break-in at his family house, Raheem Sterling now seems to be back with

England

and training ahead of their quarter-finals clash with

France

.

The aforementioned armed robbery happened whilst his family was still at home with several valuable items being reported stolen. The theft was reported on Saturday and has since being investigated by Surrey Police.

So far, they have reported that

"no threat of violence... as the items were discovered stolen retrospectively".

Following his return, the FA released an statement on Thursday:

"Raheem Sterling will return to England's World Cup base in Qatar.

"The Chelsea forward temporarily left to attend to a family matter but is now expected to rejoin the squad in Al Wakrah on Friday ahead of the quarter-final with France."

Sterling boasts of 20 goals in 81 caps for England, one of which was at the

2022 World Cup

, but the 28-year-old may be too late for training to start against France. However, his replacement Phil Foden has been doing an excellent job in his absence.
