Newcastle among Premier League clubs interested in South Korean star Lee Kang-in

Some Premier League clubs, including Newcastle are interested in signing Real Mallorca South Korean star, Kang-In Lee.

According to Marca, some Premier League clubs including Newcastle are monitoring the situation of

Kang-In Lee

ahead of the January transfer window.

Marca claims that he has a release clause of around €17m and Burnley also has contacted

Mallorca

about Lee. He has a deal with Mallorca until 2025.

Kang-In Lee plays as an attacking midfielder for La Liga club Mallorca and has been one of the breakout stars at the start of the 2022/23 La Liga season. He has scored twice and provided 3 assists in 14 matches for his team this season.

Though the 21-year-old midfielder has not started for South Korea at the

2022 World Cup

,in both games against Uruguay and Ghana has come on the pitch as a substitute and performed impressively.

Kang-In Lee joined Valencia’s academy in 2017 at the age of ten and played in 44 matches for the first team before joining Mallorca in 2021. He won the Copa del Rey with Valencia in 2019.

Lee has been likened to players like David Silva and Bernardo Silva in terms of his play style and ranks as one of the best dribblers in his position in La Liga.

Lee was voted the Asian Football Confederation's Asian Young Footballer of the Year in 2019 and in the same year he won the FIFA U-20 World Cup's Golden Ball award. South Korea finished as the runner-up in the event.
