officially confirmed

the 30-year-old striker will be out of selection for this winter World Cup due to the late injury he picked at club duty.

The statement reads: “

Senegal wishes a speedy recovery to its player Sadio Mané who missed the 2022 World Cup

.”

The 30-year-old Mane is Senegal's record goalscorer, with 34 goals in 93 matches. Senegal begins their World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on 21 November. They then will play Qatar and Ecuador. Mane decided to leave Liverpool last summer after 6 years and joined Bayern Munich. He has scored 11 goals in 23 matches for his new team.
