Rashford's 100th goal earns Man United a 1-0 victory over West Ham

Manchester United had to hold on to Marcus Rashford's first-half goal to earn a precious 1-0 victory over West Ham that sent them one place up the table. De Gea and the United defense were superb as the Hammers piled up the pressure to find an equalizer in the second half.

It took the Red Devils 38 minutes to score the opener at Old Trafford against West Ham on Sunday as they had to hold on to Marcus Rashford's 38th-minute goal for the remainder of the game as

Marcus Rashford

scored from Christian Eriksen’s clear-cut chance to bag the 100th goal of his

Manchester United

career.

Following a first half that saw both sides struggle to break their opponents down, David De Gea made 4 saves to earn Manchester United all three points on Sunday.

The result sent Man United up to their London rivals, Chelsea, with a game in hand over both Newcastle and Tottenham above them. Meanwhile,

West Ham

remains 13th on the Premier League table, five points above the bottom three.

The Red Devils will be back in Premier League action next week facing Aston Villa after a Europa League tie with Real Sociedad, while the Hammers will host Crystal Palace next week.
