Inter’s president labels Milan Skriniar “not for sale”

After a host of rumors surrounding both Milan Skriniar and the club itself, Inter president Steven Zhang has assured the fans that neither the club nor Skiriniar are for sale.

Following a home win of 4-0 against Viktoria Plzen,

Nerazzurri

has secured a place in the Round of 16 of Champions League knocking out Barcelona in the process. But the club’s situation hasn’t been all that stable this season, both on the pitch and off it.

The result against the Plzen and the subsequent qualification has justified Zhang’s decision to stick with Inzaghi despite Inter’s bad start to the season and the Chinese businessman had this to say to Sky Italia:

“The coach is excellent, very resilient and when faced with difficulties he was able to overcome them. We all saw the quality of our squad and our coach.”

The qualification could solve Inter’s cash flow problem and help them renew

Skriniar

’s contract who has a suitor like

PSG

waiting to sign him on a free next summer.

“Every year we try to improve the squad and this summer we did our best to make the team even more competitive. Skriniar is not for sale and he knows how much I want him to remain.

“I am confident we will be able to keep hold of him.”

Zhang stated about Skiriniar’s contract situation.

He was also asked about the rumors that Suning have hired two banks to find potential suitors and buyers for Internazionale to which he replied:

“The club has been at the centre of this speculation for the last two years. I am not talking to any investors and the club is not for sale as long as I am President of this club.

“Today’s result is the proof of the work we did here. The Inter fans want the best, so do we. With this qualification and over the last 18 months we won three trophies, something that had not happened for years before, so that means we made the right choices.

“We never settle and today proved we are a winning team both on and off the field. I dedicate this victory to the fans, as they deserve it. All the people who support us, even if they might criticise at times, but they want what is best for this club.”
